MEMORIALS AND FUNERAL SERVICES

If you are reading this and you have recently or are about to lose someone, my heart goes out to you.

I am an ordained minister, officiant, and spiritual director, specializing in non-denominational/interfaith ceremonies to honor the life and the love of those closest to us who have died. I serve in Portland, Oregon and the greater metropolitan area and Vancouver, WA, but also travel to special sites for releasing of ashes and other final blessings.

I respect all faiths traditions, lifestyles, and cultures. Loved ones often choose me to perform a funeral or memorial service when there are different spiritual traditions in the family and want the ceremony to be respectful and sensitive to that.

Many of the ceremonies I perform are for families that may not be participating in any formal spiritual tradition, but at the same time understand the sacredness of this final ritual.

Each life is unique. I work with you to create a ritual that reflects who your loved one was. When we meet together I bring a basic ceremony that we review together, adding to and editing to make it perfect for you and your family. Special rituals can be added.

I offer a variety of services and can accommodate the smallest to the largest funeral and memorial services, internment services, releasing of the ashes rituals, death bed rituals, private family prayer service, etc. For more information, please go to Fees and Services.

FEES AND SERVICES

My fee for a basic funeral or memorial ceremony is $250.

This price includes:

Free initial consult either by phone or at my office in NE Portland.

A meeting with a few members of your family at my office. We will go over the ceremony and the order of service and whatever other details need to be covered. It will also give you the opportunity to share with me the story of your loved one.

The day of the service I come approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled ceremony and leave after the service is completed.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES AND FEES

Death Bed Prayer and Blessings. $150 and up. Many times death may come at the end of an extended illness or hospice experience. If you know that a time of death is near, you can arrange for me to come and create ritual for the death or immediately after the death.

Private family Prayer Service prior to the funeral. $150. Some families prefer to have a private time of viewing separate from the service itself. It is sometimes helpful to have me lead prayers and blessings and be there for the family as they grieve.

Internment/graveside services. $150

Releasing of the Ashes. $150 + any travel fees applicable

Travel. There is an additional fee for ceremonies outside of the Portland area. This fee varies depending on distance and travel time.

PAYMENT

I accept cash, checks, or payment on PayPal. Because of the nature of ceremonies, I highly encourage my clients to pay prior to the day of the ceremony.
